Raise your hand if your family loves to play games. Our family does. We love challenging our skills, our minds, and hanging out together while we play. Oh and we like to win, too. The competitive streak is bold in game-loving families! And there’s nothing better than a gaming birthday party for a gaming family.
Enter Chuck E. Cheese’s.
It’s got pizza, prizes, and all the games you can want, even a ticket blaster (keep reading to see the cool video). And kids love it. And you’re about to, too. My game-loving family totally did. Because Chuck E. Cheese’s is getting an overhaul that makes it just as parent-friendly as it is kid-friendly.

The Best Birthday Party for Game-Loving Families
We got to hang out at the newly renovated Chuck E. Cheese’s in Newark, CA last week to see all that’s new about the place. The overhaul was huge, but there’s one thing they didn’t change.
And that’s definitely the best part! Kids love playing the games, and if I’m honest, so do I. They’ve brought in a ton of new games to make it interesting.
And you know the kids LOVE the tickets. First have crazy fun playing and then watch the tickets rack up. And then watch the munch machine eat them up!!
And the birthday kid gets a chance in the Ticket Blaster!! Check out my daughter’s spin in the machine!
And just in case you need a case of nostalgia, they kept the skeeball :)
5 Ways Chuck E. Cheese’s Has Grown Up
Now on to how Chuck E. Cheese’s is all new and different.
Part of the renovation was a renewed focus on food. The pizza is delicious. Really. Even my picky husband thought it was great. The salad bar adds a touch of fresh and nutritious to the menu. There’s a gorgeous open kitchen showcasing the pizza making. If your kiddo is a cooking show fan, they’ll love this part!
Chuck E. Cheese’s got a modern overhaul to make it more parent-friendly. No more circus-bright interior and new wood-tone seating. Cool new light floor (they got rid of the stages). Outlets at every booth so us parents can sit and chill with our phone charging. No more running out of battery power right before the birthday cake picture!
And I just had to share this picture from the grand opening of the mouse on the roof. Isn’t it cool? My daughter wants a giant mouse on our roof now, too.
They’ve remodeled from head to toe, inside and out.
And I just have to say… It’s SO CLEAN! There’s hand sanitizer everywhere. They have talking trash cans that encourage kids to throw away their trash. They got rid of the climbing play space. They’ve really thought about ways to make this a happy and healthy experience for kids and adults.
No Tokens to Lose
One of the coolest things they did is lose the tokens. Before your kids do when they’re playing, right?!? Now they have these awesome All You Can Play! play passes that give you free rein of Chuck E. Cheese’s to play all the games they want in the timeframe you choose. My daughter is wearing the handy wrist band here.
Sensory Sensitive Sundays
One of my favorite ways Chuck E. Cheese’s is making the place perfect for all game loving families is Sensory Sensitive Sundays. All this winning and playing can be a bit much for some families, especially those who are sensitive to sounds and lights. So the first Sunday morning of every month, they have a special session before regular opening hours, where specially trained staff are there to make sure you and your family have an amazing time, in an environment that’s just right for you.
Game-loving families, Chuck E. Cheese’s is definitely the best birthday party location for you!
